Growth, Excitement, and New Beginnings Across Our Focus Schools

Term 4 has been an energising and productive period for the Basic Concepts Foundation, with strong learner progress across our focus schools and a powerful surge in teacher commitment.

At Marine Primary, Master Mediator Michele Lothian completed the BCP cycle with the Grade 3 class. The impact was unmistakable—teachers reported clear gains in vocabulary, reasoning, and learner confidence. The momentum has sparked new enthusiasm: seven Marine Primary teachers have already asked to begin BCP training in 2026.

Jupiter Primary continued its Grade 3 implementation with steady dedication. Teachers are strengthening their mediation skills and working closely with Michele to deepen learners’ conceptual foundations.

At Edendale Primary, Red River Primary, and Mitchells Plain Primary, every participating teacher successfully completed their BCP coursework under the guidance of Master Trainer Gill Brand . Next year, they’ll take the next step toward full mediator certification by integrating the programme into daily classroom practice.

Across all sites, Term 4 showcased growing capacity, genuine excitement, and a shared belief in what thoughtful mediation can unlock. We are immensely proud of the progress made by each teacher, learner, and facilitator—and we look forward to building on this momentum in the year ahead.
