After many years, the focus on sound Foundation Phase Education as the essential requirement for a successful future is now entrenched in South African Education Policy.
Dr Louis Benjamin has refined a technique he developed to fast-track teacher training to handle literacy and numeracy in Foundation Phase (first three years of schooling).
Dr Benjamin began a pilot Project in the Kamiesberg Region of Namaqualand in 2006 funded in part by a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant and funding from the Rural Namakwaland Education Trust (RNET).
