Second Visit to the Project:

The overall purpose of the visit is to extend and deepen the project that was initiated in February 2019.

The teachers will receive another two days of training and be exposed to the third and fourth conceptual domains of the programme: Size and Position.

Refer below for more details about the forthcoming training.

Date: 27 + 28 May 2019

Time: 8:00 - 16:30

Place: To be determined

Number of teachers: 41

Number of District Officials: 3 (JTG) + 3 (Frances Baard)

Number of Provincial Officials: 1

Number of Volunteers: 3

Support and mentoring visits to the teachers will be initiated immediately after the training on the 29th to the 31st of May.

The main purpose of the visit is to assist teachers with the application of the new domains inside their classes as well as to motivate the newly trained teacher-mediators.

The visits will be lead by district and provincial officials as well as by the project team leaders.

Community volunteers will accompany the class visitors on their mentoring visits - they will continue to receive on-site training to provide additional support to the teachers.

The teachers will resume with the systematic implementation of the programme and the conceptual domain of Shape after the visit.

See programme for visit in documents below.

‘Although I have been teaching Grade R for 23 years... I have learnt so much over the past 2 weeks and have already seen a change in most of my learners.’ (Metro Central, 2012)

Teacher Feedback

‘BCP is foundational to a child's learning. It is the building blocks on which all other concepts are built. A concept needs to be fully understood by a child before a new concept can be taught. We often rush children's learning due to time constraints which is not correct.’ (KIDZPOSITIVE, Occupational Therapist, 2011)

Teacher Feedback

Training was out of this world. I would definitely recommend this training to everyone ...

Christel House Training, July 2014

Encourages children to be observant and provides opportunity for building language skills - from basics to more complex.

Public Open Training, Cape Town (2014)

Before the course, I never focused on the main concepts as I never really thought them essential to "real life" as a speech-language pathologist. I now have a very different perspective on why these aspects are important and how they move cognition forward.

ZOOM TRAINING 2 FEEDBACK

I realized that if one lays down a solid foundation for your learners they will become self-assured and confident human beings.
