Northern Cape Project (Phase 3 | ZFM): Support Visit 7 - Oct to Nov 2024 (Number/Letter)

Feedback from Support Visit 7

This was the last support visit of the year conducted by the lead field worker to 15 project schools from 14 October to the 26 November 2024. We were however not able to gain access to 3 of the project schools at this very busy time of the year.

A total of 40 teachers were visited at the project schools, with an average duration of 50 minutes per visit.

The primary goal of this final visit project was to give teachers one last opportunity to fine-tune their number and letter sessions.

All the teachers at the schools visited conducted demonstration sessions and received mentoring during their sessions, except for one school where a demonstration lesson was not conducted.

Summary of main trends:

This round of visits to the project schools in the Northern Cape highlighted both encouraging progress and ongoing challenges. Many teachers demonstrated remarkable dedication, delivering well-structured sessions that engaged learners effectively. Learners showed enthusiasm, interacted well, and demonstrated improved knowledge of letters, numbers, and their characteristics. Notably, some sessions stood out as exceptionally well-presented, with confident teachers and eager learners excelling in their application of concepts.
