Training Programme for Project Teachers

24 Foundation Phase educators from 4 project schools will be trained and supported to implement the BCP inside their classes.

The training will comprise 12 sessions run over the year. See the training programme below.

The training programme allows teachers time to implement each of the domains inside their classes before continuing with the next domain.

Classroom support and mentoring visits will be provided at the start of each domain and during the implementation of each domain.

'It was well run... Knowledge gained priceless. It taught me vital strategies in the teaching model for optimal learning and understanding to take place.' (Metro Central, 2012)

Teacher Feedback About Training (2012)

All that I learnt from Day One  I was immediately able to apply in my class the following day… with remarkable results!

Metro South Education District: Teacher Training (February, 2014)

‘The trainer was very good and it was refreshing to be part of a workshop that can actually make a difference in the lives and minds of learners.’ (Metro North, 2010)

Teacher Feedback

I have never been to such a training. I was motivated and I can't wait to implement at the ECD and I hope I'll be doing my best!

Northern Cape Project (Phase 2, 2020-2021): Training Feedback

Very well put together course: well researched, well prepared, well delivered.  A course that can be trusted to yield results when applied in practice, and therefore a much needed and valuable tool to implement with learners who are in danger of failing to learn adequately.

Open Public Training, 2015 (Cape Town)

‘It is an excellent programme. Just a pity that not all reception year educators are exposed to the training. My understanding of the programme- it is developed to systematically mediate concepts so that learners are guided to develop an understanding and so that learning is meaningful.’ (Metro Central, 2012)
