BCP Focus Schools: Salisbury House | Update 2 (2024)
Part of the Project
Salisbury House - A focus school in Kenilworth
(A report by Aimee Chiat, principal and lead mediator at Salisbury House)
As we near the end of the year and I reflect on the progress of my students, I can see the significant impact the Basic Concepts Programme has had at Salisbury House.
My students are confidently speaking in full sentences, describing objects and processes like they have never done before.
Some children develop gaps in their knowledge over time and the BCP has really helped to bridge the gaps, ensuring that my students can now continue with their academic programme with confidence in their abilities.
Each child has shown both personal and academic growth and I am certain that the BCP is largely responsible for this
As we look towards next year we will look to extend our vocabulary and cognitive skills by looking at a few more Higher Order Concepts, such as texture and time.
