Reflections from Our MEED Refresher
At a recent refresher session facilitated in partnership with MEED, teachers engaged thoughtfully with the ongoing implementation of the Basic Concepts Programme. Attendance was excellent, with 89% of participating teachers present, reflecting strong commitment to the work. Although only a small number of feedback forms were returned — likely influenced by the format of the form itself — the qualitative comments provide encouraging insight into teacher experience.
The overall tone was highly positive. Teachers described the session as “awesome,” “well explained,” and noted that “everything was clear.” At the same time, they asked for deeper practical support in specific areas. Several indicated they would like more guidance on implementing the Identifying step, particularly how to ask stronger questions and unpack key features of a concept. Others requested support with planning, time management, and understanding the difference between presenting to a whole group versus a small group.
There was also a strong call for “more practical sessions,” “practical lesson ideas,” and opportunities to see the approach modelled with learners.
The feedback reflects a committed teaching cohort seeking refinement and deeper mastery — a positive sign of growing confidence and professional engagement.
