Living Maths Presents: Toys From Trash (Cape Town)

We are very excited to announce that we have brought an International guest down from India to run a wonderful workshop for teachers. 

The workshop will be about making toys from trash, some fun science experiments that can be done with basic items and you will leave with MANY ideas for your classrooms.

 

Presenter: Ashok Rupner

Ashok comes from the Children’s Science Centre in Prune India.  He works with Arvind Gupta, the founder of Toys from Trash. After achieving his MSc in physics, Ashok worked in Vigyan Vahini, a mobile science lab for eight years, and visited over 1,500 rural schools in Maharashtra. For the past eleven years he has been working at the IUCAA Science Centre and has been instrumental in documenting over 1500 science experiments in the form of photographs and films.
