Northern Cape Project (Phase 2+2a | Frances Baard): Support and Mentoring Visit, September 2022

Mentoring & Support Visits to Grade R Classes:

The BCP team, accompanied by the NC Department of Education will provide support to project teachers.

 The main outcomes of this visit:-

• 14 schools and 31 teachers were visited by three district officials and the BCF team;

• Observations of position sessions were done in one class per school with the rest of the project teachers at the school present;

• Teachers were prepared and knowledgeable of the domain as well as the teaching model;

• We identified 10 excellent teachers, while only 2-3 teachers were regarded as poor and needing additional support;

• We received positive feedback from many teachers involved in the project as well as others not directly involved in the project;

• The Frances Baard District Officials as well as the Head Office officials expressed strong support for the project.
