Dynamic Assessment Short Course

The course aims to introduce students to Dynamic Assessment-Intervention (DAI) which can be integrated in psycho-educational and school-based assessment to inform intervention.

Participants are introduced to an interactive and process-based approach to assessment where learners’ cognitive modifiability provides a basis for developing detailed and individualized instructional strategies.

The course provides a developmentally appropriate approach to advance cognitive development in all areas of the curriculum.

The course participants will be able to:-

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the theory and history of the DAI approach
2. Demonstrate understanding of the role of DAI and its relation to cognitive intervention
3. Apply the principles of DAI within a standard assessment/school assessment context
4. Integrate findings from DAI into psycho-educational reports and/or within an Individual Support Plan
