Pixley Kaseme: Project Evaluation (2010)
Part of the Project
The results revealed a systemic and meaningful change in the cognitive functioning of the learners at the project schools. While at the start of the project the majority of learners from both schools should have been retained in their grades, by the end of the project the majority were eligible for promotion to the next grade.
The project results (particularly at Eureka) suggested that the performance of learners who had participated in the project had strengthened with each year. The 2010 Grade 3 learners still had deficits and required additional intervention, however the Grade 1 learners had in most cases already closed developmental gaps.
