Metro South (2014): Support Visit to Masivuke Primary

Recently trained teachers receive support and mentoring

Louis and Diane from Basic Concepts(BC Unlimited) and Fiella from the Department of Education visited Masivuke Primary in Philippi on Monday 3rd March to help the recently trained teachers in their use of the BC's teaching approach in the classrooms.

It takes time, focus and practice to implement BCP correctly but we are always happy to provide support.

The visits are an opportunity for teachers to receive guidance, mentoring and ideas, ask questions, as well as refine their mediational teaching skills.

We visited two Grade 1 teachers, both of whom show promise. They are planning together and supporting each other which is fantastic! They appeared to find the mentoring and feedback helpful and motivating and we do hope that they will grow in their use of BCP and see the benefits, both to themselves and their learners.
