Word Test Results:

The Word Test is a literacy test designed to determine the number of words written by learners in 15 minutes.

The learners’ literacy knowledge is assessed on an annual basis in Grades 3 & 4 since the start of the project in 2015. The results for the Word Test were, however, no longer comparable with previous years.

The results of the three remaining project schools were compared to a control school in the area over the last three years.

The results of the project schools have improved significantly over the last three year: by 76% from 2017 - 2018 and 47% from 2018-2019.

There has been an overall gain of 182% in the word knowledge of the project learners over the last three years.

The project schools have performed significantly better than the control school over the last three years: by 138% in 2017, 99% in 2018, and 420% in 2019.

The results of the project schools have improved significantly over the last three year: by 12% from 2017 - 2018 and 37% from 2018 - 2019.

There has been an overall gain of 53% in the word knowledge of the project learners over the last three years.

The project schools have performed significantly better than the control school over the last three years: by 154% in 2017, 120% in 2018, and 207% in 2019.
