Mediation for Classroom Teachers

A new short course offered by the Schools Development Unit at UCT. 

A course developed and offered by Dr Louis Benjamin.

Aims:

1. To inform and consolidate understanding of mediation as a tool to engage children in interactive learning, meaning making, transcendent and higher order learning.
2. To develop understanding of how to apply mediational teaching to the curriculum.

Learning Outcomes:

To equip the participants-

1. with knowledge and understanding of the main components of mediational teaching
2. with basic mediational skills that can be applied in the classroom
3. to apply knowledge and skills about mediation to the curriculum

6hrs
