Circle Map: A definition of Mediation

Classroom Mediation for Primary Schoool Teachers

The workshop is presented by Dr. Louis Benjamin. Louis was trained by Prof. Reuven Feuerstein and has vast experience in and knowledge about the topic.

Mediation is the collaboration between a more knowledgeable person and someone who wants to learn something new. The mediator takes the hand of the mediatee and together they embark on a journey to find what is not yet known. This is called the Zone Of Potential Development. In the ZPD the mediator is at the cutting edge of the child's development.

This interactive workshop equips teachers: -

  • to work collaboratively with their learners to enhance thinking, learning and problem-solving
  • with knowledge and understanding of the main components of mediational teaching
  • with basic mediational skills that can be applied in the classroom
  • to apply knowledge and skills about mediation to the curriculum

All participants will receive a pack of course materials
