About The Author

Mission and focus:
Louis Benjamin is a passionate educationalist with a strong belief in the cognitive modifiability and potential of children to learn. He has specialized in the cognitive assessment-intervention of pre-primary and primary school children. He initially trained as a Social Worker and thereafter completed a post-graduate degree in Educational Psychology. He has a Masters degree (Cum Laude) and Ph.D degree in Education from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.

Louis has trained, lectured, mentored, and supported educators, assessors and psychologists throughout South Africa to use mediational and metacognitive approaches to improve the cognitive and scholastic functioning of children. He is committed to improving and humanizing teaching-learning interactions and to doing so using reliable, scientifically validated methods.
